The NSW Support Service for Forgotten Australians has been established to provide counselling, casework and referral services to adults who have been in Out-of-Home Care in New South Wales up until the 1990’s. The overall aims are to help people to deal with the legacy of their childhood experiences and to provide support to improve their health and wellbeing. The service facilitates access to assistance, to address ongoing issues and questions from individuals about their care experiences. This specialist service works with care leavers in a way which demonstrates an understanding of the experience of being in care and the lasting impact of this experience.
We require professionals to start this innovative service based at Westmead in Western Sydney within the next 2 months.
INTAKE/ADMIN OFFICER
Full time - 2 year fixed term contract
This vital position will be the first point of entry for all clients of the service. You will be responsible for determining client eligibility, assessment and referral, as well as reception, data management and administration requirements of the service.
Applicants with experience and an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are encouraged to apply.
