The NSW Support Service for Forgotten Australians has been established to provide counselling, casework and referral services to adults who have been in Out-of-Home Care in New South Wales up until the 1990’s. The overall aims are to help people to deal with the legacy of their childhood experiences and to provide support to improve their health and wellbeing. The service facilitates access to assistance, to address ongoing issues and questions from individuals about their care experiences. This specialist service works with care leavers in a way which demonstrates an understanding of the experience of being in care and the lasting impact of this experience.
We require a professional for this innovative new service based at Westmead in Western Sydney within the next 2 months.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Full time - 2 year fixed term contract
As program coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the development of the program and provision of quality services to clients. This is a senior position in the organisation with significant autonomy and decision making capacity which requires flexibility, initiative and high level organisational, management and clinical supervisory skills.
Applicants with experience and an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are encouraged to apply.
