The Vocations Centre, an agency of the Archdiocese of Sydney, is committed to helping Catholic men and women discern their vocation.  The Vocations Centre does this by running and/or contributing to special events, and working closely with parishes, agencies and other Archdiocesan organisations by providing resources and materials for the promotion of vocations.

 

This role is a part time position working 2 days per week Tues - Fri, and will be based at the Polding Centre, Sydney.  This role will commence in March 2010 and end in late September 2010.

Reporting to the Director, Vocations Centre, the role of Administration and Promotions Assistant is to work closely with the Vocations Centre team by providing administrative and secretarial assistance in the promotion of vocations, assisting the team with the creation and dissemination of promotional material for regular and special events, assisting in the preparation and organisation of discernment weekends, vocations forums and days of recollection, and liaising with suppliers for the printing and distribution of promotional material.

 

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience either in a similar role or in a role encompassing the key responsibilities of this position, a sound knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church, an understanding of the principles of vocations, evangelisation and catechesis, a personal commitment to the ethos and values of the Church, an ability to work effectively without close supervision, an ability to work with a diverse group of people, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
